SVG Diagram for ChatGPT: Privacy
Updated October 14, 2026.
What the integration receives
When ChatGPT calls a diagram tool, SVG Diagram receives the tool arguments, including the selected template, diagram content, title and appearance settings. The integration does not request your full conversation, account profile, files, credentials or existing diagram history. No SVG Diagram account is required.
Rendering and temporary downloads
Rendering uses published templates on our server without sending content to another AI model. Generated SVG files are temporarily cached in server memory for up to one hour. Cache eviction or a service restart may remove them earlier. Download links contain a random, unguessable identifier. Anyone who receives a download link can access that file while it remains available, so share links only with intended recipients. Diagram contents and the temporary SVG cache are not saved to the account database.
Manual makers and browser exports
Manual makers run locally. Their data is not sent to our server. SVG and PNG exports are prepared in your browser. When you export, the file is handed to the host for download. In ChatGPT, the exported file may be uploaded to OpenAI to obtain a temporary file URL, then opened in your browser for saving. OpenAI handles those files under its own policies; the integration does not add them to the file library. If you ask ChatGPT to edit your diagram content, that request is sent to ChatGPT and any necessary diagram tool arguments are sent to SVG Diagram.
Service records
Our infrastructure handles IP addresses and technical request records for operation and abuse prevention. The app does not intentionally log diagram contents or identity tokens. OpenAI handles the conversation and app interactions under its own policies. Our general Privacy Policy covers the website and service infrastructure.
Contact
For questions or rights requests, email support@svgdiagram.ai. Removing or disabling the plugin stops further tool calls; files you already downloaded remain on your device.
